Switch Your Account(s) in Three Easy Steps
Open a New State Bank of Alcester Checking Account. Visit our Personal Checking page or Business Checking page and pick the type of account that is right for you. Stop into the State Bank of Alcester at 190 Iowa St, Alcester, SD, and talk to a personal banker. You can also complete either our online Checking and Savings Account application or Switch Kit form. After opening your new account, stop using your old bank account, but do not close it until you complete step two.
Setup or Transfer Any Direct Deposits or Automated Transfers.To make your switch to State Bank of Alcester hassle-free, written notices must be sent to change any direct deposits or automatic transfers you may have. To do this, you have two options:

We’ll fill out and send you the forms you need to transfer your direct deposits and automatic payments. You just need to sign them and send them to appropriate places, or just send them back to us, and we’ll send them.
Option 2: You can simply print and complete the applicable forms and send them yourself. Just complete and send the Switch Direct Deposit Payroll Letter, the Switch Direct Deposit Letter and the Switch Automatic Payment Letter to all necessary vendors.

To change your Social Security direct deposit, call the Social Security Center at 1 (800) 772-1213.
Close Your Old Bank Account(s).Once all of your checks have cleared on your account and your direct deposit and automatic payments have been transferred, send written notice to the financial institution that you wish to close your account. A sample letter is provided below for your use. You may want to wait a month after requesting your changes to ensure a smooth transition before closing your account.
